**LAST WEEKEND FOR ONLINE SALES**

Ticket sales for the biggest fireworks display in Essex this year are still available to buy online (as well as all outlets around Billericay of course) but time is running out for online sales. The last orders will be taken at midnight on Sunday 30th October so please grab your tickets now to save money on the gate and avoid disappointment.

Since the online ticketing was made available earlier in October, the sales have been steadily coming in from near and far - some EIGHT counties in fact, including Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, Northamptonshire, Middlesex and Greater London. The catchment area of this incredible event has surprised us all in the Round Table as none of us realised how far people were prepared to travel.

The event itself has grown from a much smaller event back in the 1970-80s, when the members of Billericay Round Table would set the fireworks off themselves, flip burgers on the bbq and their wives and partners would make cups of tea for the crowds! The motto of Round Table is "Adopt, Adapt and Improve" and you could certainly say that the event has evolved over the years - it now attracts up to 18,000 spectators, a fairground, Heart FM radio roadshow with Martin and Su, a fireworks display from the European champions Jubilee Fireworks and various food, drink and service providers battling for a pitch. The success of the event and it's massive presence in the eyes of the local community also prompted a huge sponsor in 2010 by way of local car dealer Toomey Motor Group, who very kindly donated £18,000 to the event, pushing the amount raised that year to a whopping £70,000.

All of the proceeds from this event go to charity and we have been lucky enough to donate desperately needed cash to many local causes over the past number of years. The list of individuals and organisations who have received our help is endless, but some of them can be seen on the Billericay Round Table website, on the Community page. We will continue to work hard throughout the year to make the event as successful as possible so that we can raise vital funds for future causes.

Aside from all the fundraising involved in the fireworks event, one of the main reasons the guys in Table do what we do is because it's so much fun. It doesn't take much convincing to get a bunch of men to build a huge bonfire, that's for sure! The commoraderie and jokes we enjoy over the 3 day weekend are endless - you just have to look at the Gallery pages on the fireworks site to see how much fun we all have every year. Round Table is open to men aged 18-45yrs, from any vocation or walk of life and we are always looking for new members to bring fresh ideas and energy to the group. Most of Tabling is about having fun, socialising (beer is a common factor in our social calendar!) and developing a whole new bunch of friends you never knew you had. If you want to find out more, please get in touch - info@billericayroundtable.co.uk - we would love to hear from you!

For more information about where you can buy tickets, along with all prices for shop outlets, online and gates, please visit the fireworks site and go to the tickets page.

See you there - be safe and have a great night!

Tickets flying off the shelf!

Since launching the facility of online tickets for the Billericay Fireworks event back in the second week of October, we have already sold an incredible amount of tickets. The online option had been debated for many years amongst the members of the Billericay Round Table and it was finally pushed forward this year, to be run as a testing platform for future years to come.

So far it has been a big success with tickets being sold far and afield, including Surrey, Kent, Hertfordshire, North London and Suffolk. We've also seen many customers around Billericay buying tickets online (some of our members have even been posting these tickets by hand!) which proves the argument that some people just want the convenience of buying from the comfort of their armchair!

The ticket prices had to be discussed and it was established that we would end up, after Paypal charges and Recorded delivery, cost of envelopes, etc., that our charity would receive less than the pre-sales revenues if we sell online directly at the pre-sales prices. We also thought it unfair and lacking incentive for the customers if the prices didn't somehow work out cheaper than just buying at the gate on the night. So we pitched in between the pre-sales (£4.00 concessions / £6.00 adults) and gate prices (£5.00 concessions / £7.00 adults) and kept the postage to a fair minimum - a flat £1.50 regardless of order size.

The event is the biggest firework night in Essex and yet again we are expecting a sell-out crowd, as we have had in the past few years, so we are strongly advising people to buy their tickets in advance. All of the Billericay ticket outlets are listed on the website - www.billericayfireworks.co.uk - and tickets will be sold online up until midnight on Sunday 30th October.

Don't forget, ALL proceeds from the Billericay Fireworks night will go to charity and most of the money raised will go to worthy causes within the local community so please come along and show your support for what is arguably the best fireworks event in the area.

Have a good and SAFE night.

Hatty Keane confirmed for 2011

We are excited to report that young sensation Hatty Keane has been confirmed for the 2011 Billericay Fireworks event on Saturday 5th November. This is an incredible booking for us and will create a massive amount of hype around our teenage audience - she is destined for great things!

Hatty Keane was born in Salford, greater Manchester. Singing from the time she could talk, everyone knew she was destined to be a success, but it wasn’t until at the age of eleven when she was given her first karaoke machine that Hatty’s love affair with music really began. She would sing at any opportunity and her natural talent and soulful voice began to shine through.

Singing in the car and performing for family and friends pushed Hatty forward and increased her confidence; always prepared for hard work and looking to improve her talents, she entered and won a school talent contest. In 2010, bolstered by her success, Hatty entered the Open Mic UK competition. Battling through Auditions, Regional Finals and Area Finals to the National Grand Final, Hatty won her age category, came second in the competition out of 9,000 acts, built an extensive fan base and played in front of a 2,000-strong crowd at the O2 in London.

Wowing judges including Radio 1’s Ras Kwame, Mobo Award-winning Shola Ama and BGM’s Michael King was just the beginning for the teenage sensation. Hatty’s success in Open Mic UK led to her being offered a management and development contract by Future Music and BGM Music. Hatty has been working hard ever since to perfect her music, heading toward her first single release in late 2011.

Drawing a massive following, Hatty can count fans including Taio Cruz and Dane Bowers to name a few.

Please watch this space as we will be announcing the next live act very soon! For more information please visit www.billericayfireworks.co.uk

Pallets, pallets, pallets....!

We had a nice email yesterday from a local business in Basildon who are offering 300-400 unwanted pallets to a local charity fireworks display. I very gratefully accepted and it means a massive dent has been put in the daunting task of getting 800-900 pallets for the event.

If you are thinking of coming to the fireworks display in Billericay on Saturday 6th November make sure you get your ticket from one of our pre-sales outlets, as this year really is promising to be a sell out.

Thanks for reading!

Hotting up to the big event

It's been way too long since I posted anything on the blog - somehow the subject of fireworks doesn't really come up much during the rest of the year!

This year's plans are well and truly under way, having commenced shortly after last year's event finished. We raised a massive amount for charity last year and will be hoping to smash all records for the charity pot this year, having secured the support of a local car dealer for a fantastic amount.

I have been busy setting up Facebook accounts and pages for the Billericay Round Table, along with the Billericay Fireworks night, so we are officially in the realms of social networking now. I am hoping to get at least 1,000 people who "like" the event on Facebook!

Still not got the online tickets set up for this year, despite all good intentions - will have to work on this for next year.

We are looking for a kind volunteer who will take a video of the entire event - from snippets of us Round Table guys setting up the park and building the fire on Friday 5th November, to the full display in all it's glory. If you would like to help out, please email me directly - simon@poole.com - and let me know.

Equally, we are always looking for help and support with building the fire on the Friday - we usually have anything from 600-800 pallets to arrange, plus all the local residents bringing down their branches and old fence panels, etc. It's great fun so again, if you can help, please email me directly.

Thanks for your support and please keep coming back to check for any news.

Fireworks pictures by Scott Gobeille

I'm pleased to announce the addition of more fireworks pictures from one of Billericay Round Table's members, Scott Gobeille. Thankfully Scott was on hand during the day on Friday to capture the teamwork and efforts of all the Tablers and everyone else who very kindly helped build the fire and set the event up.

The preparation involved to make this event happen is immense - the plans are already in motion for the following year by the time the park at Lake Meadows is being cleared up from the current year's event. Months of planning, negotiating, co-ordinating and liaison with the Council, Essex FM, suppliers, helpers and sponsors are involved, all done by members of Billericay Round Table and, this year, led by Adam Hills who has co-ordinated the event on many previous years.

This year's event raised well over £40,000 which will be donated over the next 12 months to a variety of very worthy causes, many of which are local and specific to individual cases or projects. Our thanks, as always, goes to the loyal residents of Billericay and beyond for your continued support of the event.

Billericay Fireworks pictures

After a very successful night on Saturday, where we raised thousands of pounds for local charities, I have finally managed to find time to upload the various pictures taken by myself amongst others. There are some fantastic pictures taken by Adrian Lock and Mikey Cartwright - great pictures of fireworks lighting up the park from both of these guys.

Please visit the site again soon to see more pictures which will be added over the coming days.

In the meantime, please have a look at the pictures so far:-

Ticket sales

We have had a great start to the ticket sales outside the train station in Billericay so far - lots of tickets being bought and already it is looking like being a great event. Going on previous figures, we are anticipating well over 15,000 people at the fireworks display this year.

Don't forget to check http://www.billericayfireworks.co.uk/tickets for full information on where you can buy tickets in advance this year (they are slightly cheaper than paying on the gate).

There will still be plenty of option to buy tickets on the gates, but we do urge you to please buy tickets in advance to avoid delays or disappointment.

Parking on Saturday 7th November

We have kindly been offered FREE use of the large NCP car park situated at the train station this year on Saturday 7th November for the big event. The station is only 2mins walk from Lake Meadows where the firework display is being held, so please feel free to utilise this free parking to avoid clogging up Radford Way and surrounding roads.

Better late than never...

Welcome to the new blog for the annual Billericay Charity Fireworks Display - due to go off with a massive bang (pardon the pun) in only 4 days time.

So, better late than never...the main aim of setting the blog up is to generate more traffic to the main website www.billericayfireworks.co.uk and tempt even more people to come along to the event.

To give you a brief introduction to the event, here is the opening paragraph from the site:-

The members of Billericay Round Table (594), along with many helpers from other organisations, put a massive amount of preparation into this event every year. The plans for 2009 were well under way even before the embers had been extinguished from this year's event and will continue right up until the gates open at Lake Meadows. From organising the materials for the fire, meticulously planning the fireworks routine and music, to arranging entertainment, food, toilets, emergency services and safety barriers, the tasks are endless.Thankfully, when it all comes together on the night, everyone involved is rewarded with THE biggest and best fireworks display in Billericay and indeed in Essex. Attracting up to 18,000 people each year, the Billericay Round Table Charity Fireworks event continues to host a great night out for all the family.

Please keep visiting this blog to stay in touch and find out when this year's gallery pictures have been added, etc. etc.

Hope to see you there!
